Thinking About a Gift for Her?

When it comes to a woman, we are sentimental creatures. Driven by passion, heart, spirituality and humor, there isn’t much we do not enjoy; really, there isn’t. Though, many men would disagree, women are pretty simple. Yes, we change our minds about what is best or what we want but, who doesn’t. If you find yourself attempting to shop for a woman, it’s not as difficult as your thinking.

The first key to figuring out what a woman wants for Valentine’s Day, is to listen to her. Though, you must remember, we are women and we love to give details. These details do not always pertain to the situation at hand so, it may take a bit to come across the answer you are looking for. I assure you, we will spit it out eventually.

If you think that you will be uncomfortable or not achieve the goal of an answer through listening, you could always resort to the basics. There are some gifts that can always be given and be graciously accepted. Your basics include; flowers, candy, cards and stuffed animals. For those able, Jewelry is always a great gift.

As I stated earlier though, women are very sentimental. If you can personalize a gift in any way, it will be over the top for her. For instance, if you want to take her to dinner, take her to the place you both shared your first dinner out together. This is something that she will find so special to her heart. It will speak volumes.

Though, anything you take your time out to find for her will be appreciated, give yourself a little time to plan something out.

While we all know that women love to be showered with jewelry, you may be surprised to learn that men do too! Valentine’s Day is often of a day of many proposals to women or spectacular gifts of jewelry from husband to wife. But, what do you do when the man in your life enjoys the finer gifts as well?

To be quite honest, there are really no limits. Men’s jewelry is becoming increasingly popular at all jewelry stores and department stores, these days. As a matter of fact, I have that type of man in my life. He loves to look and smell nice. Sometimes, it can be hassle to get into the restroom for my turn to get dressed, but for the most part, it is nice to see him taking the time to look nice.

I was recently in a local discount warehouse department store, looking for knick knacks to add to his Valentine’s Day treat I was in the process of making, when I stumbled upon the jewelry counter. To my surprise, there were tons of watches, bracelets and rings for men there. I took some time to look things over and found a ring for him. It was neither gaudy nor feminine, it was just right, him.

I was a bit nervous about giving it to him as; I had never tried to give a man a ring before. I wasn’t asking for his hand in marriage, I was merely showing him that I love him and that I pay attention to his interests and likings. When it came time to exchange, my stomach was in knots, I got nervous that maybe he wouldn’t enjoy receiving such a gift. His reaction said it all. He loved it. Couldn’t believe I had picked something like this out. He was just floored. That made it even more special.

From high end stores to discount warehouses, there is something out there for everyone. Take the time to look and you may be surprised what you come across. As a woman, even just shopping for the jewelry was fun!

Gifts for Him

Valentine’s Day is a tough one for women, when deciding what to get the man in her life. Men are not generally “mushy” or as sentimental as women. The gifts you typically see on the store shelves are teddy bears, chocolates and other things, you would not normally see a man clinging on to. I am not saying that they wouldn’t like it but, generally something more their speed would be appropriate. It’s also unfair for women to completely take over the holiday and expect but never give. After all, those guys deserve something once a year, for simply putting up with us!

The best thing to do is plan ahead, on what you would like to get him. We already know that the stores have little to nothing on their shelves to get your guy as a last minute gift. Take the time to plan ahead. Start with his interests, what does he like? Is he a sports fan? Get him a cap of his favorite team. You can compile a few things that you know he likes into a nice basket and present that to him. Receiving things that he likes will not only please him but, show him that you pay attention to what his interests are. The old saying of, “it’s the thought that counts”, really does apply to something.

Many men are not used to being celebrated in Valentine’s Day festivities. Unfortunately, many women feel as though it is strictly about a man buying her something. As with the saying “it takes two to tango”, the same applies to a relationship; it involves two of you.

Show him you appreciate him on Valentine’s Day with a well planned and totally awesome gift.
